Sales Training Advice from Tom Hopkins

Tom Hopkins Sales Academy Seminar information Any improvement in your selling performance will make you feel better, do better and serve others better. All of that equates to more happiness and success.

Now, what area could you improve in that would make the biggest impact? Being a sales trainer, I would usually recommend something like qualifying skills. Top salespeople, the world over, are excellent at qualifying potential clients.

However, this year, I have another suggestion in mind-something more foundational to your overall success in life, not just sales.

Consider This: You've just been handed a brochure and manual for your company's newest, most innovative product ever. How do you feel? If you're elated by the prospect of offering this wonderful product, great! If you're like most salespeople, though, you're probably feeling excited about the future prospects yet, overwhelmed by the necessity to read everything in order to understand the benefits this product offers.

Unfortunately, "overwhelmed" is the feeling most adults in the business world have when asked about reading material. It doesn't matter if it's a newsletter, magazine, or the latest marketing idea that could help them earn twice what they did last year. When people are faced with hundreds of daily email messages related to business and personal relationships on top of everything else they must review, reading can become a burden-a heavy weight that wears you down and wears you out. It's not that you don't want to be informed, but information overload causes stress and can lead to depression.

If you've ever felt you couldn't deal with all the material you need to read, it's probably founded on something that you learned way back in elementary school-how to read. In first, second, and third grade, you're taught to read word-by-word, sounding out letter and syllable combinations. That helped you become able to read, but limited you to being a non-fluent reader.

In order to improve your reading skill, you need to learn to see more than one word at a time and stop vocalizing words (even if it's silently in your head). Reading one word at a time allows you to achieve a certain pace, not unlike a horse walking down the street. Clip-clop. However, kick that horse into a trot or full gallop and you'll reach your destination in half the time or less and be much more invigorated by the journey you've just taken than had you continued clip-clopping along.

So, how do you learn to read faster? With simple exercises to help you see more than one word at a time.

I'm going to do something I rarely do. I'm going to recommend a particular course of action to attain this goal I've set for you. I've had the good fortune of learning about The Literacy Company, the developer of The Readers Edge self-paced software program that teaches fluent reading skills. The founder and CEO, Richard Sutz, is the author of Speed Reading for Dummies and has more than 40 years of experience in the field of speed reading. I have long recommended the Evelyn Wood speed reading program, but must tell you that The Readers Edge has surpassed it by far. With it, you can achieve the status of a fluent reader in a very short time. Fluent reading means reading better and faster with improved comprehension and recall.

If you're interested in investing in your self-development through in The Reader's Edge program, I have made arrangements with The Literacy Company to offer:

Click here and as easy as playing on your computer, you can begin to increase your personal and professional performance by becoming a better reader. It will make a huge difference in every aspect of your life.

To double the effectiveness of this program, the reading selections included in this special offer are drawn from my books. So, not only will you increase your speed and comprehension, you'll be comprehending how to be a better salesperson as well. Try it today and be prepared to be amazed at how much smarter you feel and how less overwhelming reading becomes.

Should you choose to invest in The Readers Edge self-education program, you may do so at a special reduced investment for my students through this link:www.FluentReading.com/THI.
